Terms of Use and Community Rules
Version 0.1. Last updated: July 4, 2026
What this community is
Happy & Safe is a meeting place for people who have done real therapeutic work and are looking for a serious, healthy relationship. That is the whole idea, and it is why we ask more of you than other apps do.
Everyone here completed the same screening before creating an account. Nobody bought their way in, and nobody was waved through. The screening and these rules exist for one reason: so that everyone in this community can safely try to find their own good, safe, happy relationship. Trust here is not assigned or assumed. It is earned by doing the work, and every member has done it.
One thing we say plainly, because honesty is the foundation of this place: we enable healthier choices. We raise the bar for who gets in, and we keep raising it through these rules. But we do not and cannot guarantee safety, honesty, or outcomes. People are people, and no screening reads hearts. What we promise is a community where everyone has shown they are serious, and rules that we actually enforce.
If that sounds demanding, good. It is meant to. If you are ready for it, welcome.
1. Eligibility and account
You must be 18 or older to use Happy & Safe. You may have one account, and it must be yours: you are who you say you are, using your own name, your own face, and your own life. Creating an account requires verification of your phone number or email address. Accounts created for someone else, shared accounts, and duplicate accounts are not allowed.
2. Truthfulness
Your screening answers and your profile must be truthful. You affirm this twice: once when you submit your screening, and again when you create your account. This community only works if the answers behind every profile are real. Giving false or misleading information, in the screening or in your profile, may lead to removal of your account.
3. Your own words
Your screening answers and your messages to other members are your own words, not generated by AI. You give this affirmation at the start, before the screening begins, and it applies for as long as you are a member. Other people here are investing real effort in getting to know you. They deserve to be talking to you.
4. Respectful conduct
Treat every member with respect. Harassment, pressuring, hate speech, and sexualized contact without consent are not tolerated, in messages or anywhere else in the app.
This app is for people seeking a serious relationship. Using it to seek something else at other members' expense, for example passing the screening while actually looking for casual encounters, is a violation of these terms, not just bad manners. If that is what you want, other platforms exist for it, and you are welcome back when you want what this place is for.
5. Photos and content
Use your own, recent photos. Photos of other people are not allowed, and photos of minors are never allowed under any circumstances, including your own children. Do not use the app for commercial content, solicitation, promotion, or spam of any kind. Content that violates these rules may be removed, and repeated or serious violations may lead to removal of your account.
6. Community duty to report
Everyone here passed the same gate, and everyone shares the responsibility of keeping it meaningful. If a match reveals that they did not actually do therapy, that they are not looking for anything serious, or if they behave inappropriately toward you, we ask you to report it. Reporting is not tattling. It is how this community protects the honest people in it.
Reports are confidential. They go to our moderation team only, and they are never shown to the reported person. Your identity as a reporter is protected.
7. What happens after a report
When we receive a report, the reported account is frozen immediately while we investigate. A frozen member can see their own profile but no matches or conversations. They see a notice that the situation is under review, and our support team contacts them. A report is a signal that starts an investigation, not a verdict: after the investigation, the account is either restored or removed. Where possible, we look for corroboration, such as in app evidence or a pattern of similar reports.
8. False reports
The reporting channel exists to protect people, and we protect the channel itself the same way. Knowingly false or retaliatory reports are themselves a violation of these terms and can lead to freezing and removal of the reporter's account.
9. Consequences
Our enforcement follows a clear ladder. First, the account is frozen. Then we investigate, and the member is heard before any final decision. Then the account is either restored or removed. Some violations skip the ladder: threats to anyone's safety and illegal content can lead to immediate removal.
10. Privacy and data
How we handle your personal data is described in our Privacy Notice, which is part of your agreement with us. Because your screening answers include health related information, this special category data is handled only with your explicit consent, and you can withdraw that consent at any time. Screening decisions are automated: if your application is rejected, you have the right to contest the decision and obtain human review, as required by Article 22 of the GDPR.
11. Liability
Happy & Safe enables healthier choices. Our screening filters for reflection, intent, and attitudes, and our rules and moderation keep raising the bar. But people are people. We do not guarantee any person's behavior, honesty, or your safety, online or offline. Screening produces a signal, not a certainty, and a written answer is not a window into a soul. When you meet someone, meet responsibly: choose a public place, tell someone where you are going, and trust your own judgment. It is a good judgment. You did the work.
12. Changes and termination
We may update these terms from time to time, and we will notify you of material changes before they take effect. If you do not accept the updated terms, you can stop using the service and delete your account. You can delete your account at any time in your settings; deletion is handled as described in the Privacy Notice. These terms are governed by the laws of Finland.
